The Primary Total Hip Arthroplasty Workshop conducted by the Sunshine Bone and Joint Institute was successfully held on 13th February 2025 as part of the 10th Annual Conference of the Telangana Orthopaedic Surgeons Association (TOSACON 2025) in Hyderabad. The workshop, led by Dr. A.V. Gurava Reddy (Chairman, Sunshine Bone and Joint Institute), and the organising team, including Dr. Adarsh Annapareddy (Organising Secretary), Dr. Tarun Jayakumar (Course Convenor), provided an in-depth understanding of hip arthroplasty techniques, implant selection, and surgical approaches.

Workshop Highlights:

• Normal Hip Biomechanics and Arthroplasty, Fundamentals by Dr. Ratnakar Rao
• Preoperative Planning: Clinical Assessment & Imaging by Dr. Sai Laxman
• Implant Selection (Cemented vs. Cementless Fixation) by Dr. K. Sudheer Reddy
• Surgical Demonstration of Posterior Approach with Cementless Fixation by Dr. VBN Prasad Rao
• Case-Based Discussions and Saw Bone Skill Labs with leading orthopaedic experts

A special hands-on Saw Bone Workshop Skill Lab was also conducted, which allowed participants to practice acetabular reaming, screw placement, and femur preparation, offering a comprehensive learning experience.
